Clara May Hunter

MARION: Clara May Hunter, 80, formerly of Marion, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at her residence in Mansfield, Ohio. She was born on July 27, 1928 in Marion County the daughter of the late Alva S. and Lena (Bennett) Brown. On July 22, 1946 she married Paul Raymond Hunter who is surviving.

Clara has lived in Marion County most of her life and was a member of Trinity Luthern Church. She was manager of Baskin Robbins, worked at the G.C. Murphy Store, and was a cook at the Pleasant High School.

In addition to her husband Clara is survived by four children: daughter, Shirley (Joe) Higley of Marion, son, Roger (Gloria) Hunter of Shelby, Ohio and daughters Gloria (Mark) Carlson of Wisconsin, and Anita Douville of Lexington; Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 2 great granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Evelyn Rosebrough; and her granddaughter, Lynsey R. Hunter.

Calling hours will be held at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2009 from 1 to 2 pm. There will be a funeral service on Monday at 2 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Lintern officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice or to any Hospice organization, and/or to the Mansfield Cancer Foundation, and/or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North West Ohio.
